At Wilkes University, one of the great things is that we have such a good student-to-teacher ratio. We're able to meet one on one with professors, which is really amazing. Because at bigger schools, you don't really get that opportunity.
There are a number of cocurriculars that you can be a part of. I got to meet other people from my major. And it also helps us stay involved. And we get to plan. Just kind of brings everyone in my major closer together.
There are a lot of internships to be a part of.
Internships are a really important part of learning on campus. And it's really helpful and beneficial because you get to see real life experience, real life people. And you're really just seeing how your degree is going to apply in the future.
Luckily, I have a lot of mentors amongst faculty. My advisor helps me choose my classes, what classes to take for each semester, so that I'm not overwhelmed with the amount of classes I have to take or the workload.
Advisors are very helpful when looking ahead to law schools. If I need my advisor to put me in contact with people at that law school, they have all the connections to do so. 90% of Wilkes students actually end up getting into at least one law school.
My experience at Wilkes has been absolutely phenomenal. I've had so many new doors be open due to my academics. And I'm so excited to see what the future holds due to these open doors.

En la Universidad Wilkes, una de las grandes cosas que tenemos es una muy buena proporción entre alumnos y maestros. Podemos reunirnos con los profesores personalmente, lo cual es realmente fantástico. Porque en las escuelas más grandes, realmente no tienes esa oportunidad.
Hay varios planes de estudio en los que puedes participar. Puedo conocer a otras personas gracias a mi especialidad. Y eso también nos ayuda a permanecer involucrados. Y planeamos. Como que eso acerca a todos los que están en mi especialidad.
Hay muchas prácticas en las que puedes participar.
Las prácticas son una parte verdaderamente importante de aprender en el campus. Y es realmente útil y beneficioso porque puedes ver las experiencias de la vida real, personas de la vida real. Y en verdad estás viendo cómo tu carrera va a aplicarse en el futuro.
Afortunadamente, tengo muchos mentores entre los profesores. Mi asesor me ayuda a elegir mis clases, qué clases tomar en cada semestre, para que no me sienta abrumada con la cantidad de clases que tengo que tomar o con la carga de trabajo.
Los asesores son muy útiles cuando buscas entrar a la escuela de leyes. Si necesito que mi asesor me ponga en contacto con personas en esa escuela de leyes, tiene todos los contactos para hacerlo. El 90% de los estudiantes de Wilkes terminan entrando en, al menos, una escuela de leyes.
Mi experiencia en Wilkes ha sido absolutamente fenomenal. Se me han abierto muchas puertas nuevas gracias a mi preparación académica. Y estoy muy emocionada de ver lo que el futuro me depara gracias a estas puertas abiertas.
